Ashland Girls Trip

Anna, Julie, and I went to Ashland July 17- 18 to see a play called 12th Night. Grandma and Grandpa Burks came to watch Dylan and Max (the girls were still in Oregon) because Chris was working that weekend. It was nice they were able come. Thanks G & G!

We stayed at the Hersey House Bed and Breakfast. Julia, are you sure it's not the Hershey House?

We ate dinner at this pub the lady at the B & B recommended. There was a line out the door, but it was worth the wait. The food was delicious. Even the salad was good.

The play we saw was at the outside theater. The weather was perfect and it was a beautiful night for an outside event.

I got in trouble by a 15 year-old boy for taking this picture. No pics in the theater! Ooops. I thought it was ok because the play hadn't started.....I guess not.

There is a gift shop by the theater with this cut-out, so of course we had to do it.
Here's Julia....

Anna

And Myself

On our last morning, on the porch of the house. What a fun trip. We decided we need to at least do a girls trip twice a year. Where are we going next girls?

Cabin Time

We went to the cabin with the Smiths and Max for the first time. We had a great time. Dylan wanted to hold the doggie on the way there. Max doesn't look too sure.

Dylan loves to play in the dirt.

The cabin is hidden up in the trees. It's such a pretty location. We feel very lucky that Chris' grandma lets the family use it.

They have a great lake that the kids love to play at. The girls were still with their Dad and Alex was with his Dad, so we just had the little kids.

Ryan and Owen playing in the water. Owen wasn't too sure about the water at first, but on the last day he got in. And Payton is behind them playing with two other girls she made friends with. She walked up to the girls and said, "Hi, my name is Payton Smith. Can I play with you?" I thought it was so cute.

The boys having fun in the sun

They have two floating docks in the middle of the lake. They are nice for sun bathing. Ryan, Payton, Me, Dylan and Chris. Crystal and Owen were on the shore taking this picture.

I swam out to the dock with Dylan on my back with his life jacket on, of course. I thought he would do the death grip on my neck the whole way out there, but he was actually very comfortable. Swim lessons did a lot for him this summer.

Happy 4th of July

I'm just a little behind on my blogging. We had a fun 4th of July. We went to our neighborhood block party. One of our neighbors, who will remain nameless, is a truck driver and they acquired some fireworks that you can't buy in Cali. They were fun to watch.

The girls were in Oregon this year at their Dad's house, so it was just the three of us. The Smith's were going to join us, but Pay and O are NOT fans of fireworks.

We set up our chairs in the driveways of two houses that are across from each other about five houses down from our house.

The CHP showed up (we had his family over for dinner a couple weeks later) but luckily we knew him.

Dylan was most impressed by the HOT fireworks both on the street and in the air. He would say "HOT" everytime they lit one.

And the fire department showed up too. Luckily they were very nice. We fed them brownies and some other yummy food and they left.

Here are some of the cupcake we brought to share.

We had a great time meeting some of the neighbors we didn't know yet, and visiting with the ones we already knew. It's great to be an American.

New Doggie - Nissan "Max" Maxima

Max was born April 6, 2010. We got him Father's Day Weekend, 6-18-10. He is so cute and FULL of energy.

The boys bonded right away. They played together throwing the ball and chasing each other.

He loves to cuddle and sleep on your neck. He must like the warmth or something???

He loves all his toys

And we are crate-training him, but he LOVES his bed.

AAWWWW.......

The girls were in Oregon when we got him, so we kept it a surprise until 7-26-10 when we went to Oregon to pick them up.

They were shocked and so excited we FINALLY got a dog.

And they missed their little brother. And he missed them.

Max gave out LOTS of kisses and hugs.

More kisses and hugs for Sophia

Here's the video of the girls meeting Max. I felt really loved though because Sophia flew right past Max and gave me a big hug.

We love you Max! Welcome to the family.

Dylan's First Swim Lessons

Dylan took swim lessons for the first time at his daycare. They were for two weeks from June 21 to July 1, 2010. His teacher's name is Miss Stephanie. The class is more about what to do if he fell into water accidently. So she teaches them about making their body safe by flipping over on their backs. And if they are close to an edge to hold onto the edge.

He cried the whole time the first day. It was hard to watch.

He wasn't too sure about being on his back. But by the third day, he was all for it. He ended up loving and I'm glad he got to do it. Shannon (our daycare lady) is awesome. We just love her. And Miss Stephanie (the swim teacher) was wonderful with Dylan. She calls him handsome Dylan man.

This video was from the first day of lessons. He cried through the whole first lesson.

Here is Dylan jumping in the water from the edge. So Cute!

Funderland Fun

While my parents were here for Addison's graduation, we went to Funderland. Its a little kiddy amusement park. Addison and Sophia hung in there and took the little kids on rides. Very cute.

Addison could barely get her long legs in the plane. :)

Rollercoaster fun. Notice Grandpa Jim with his hands up in the back.

Train ride around the park

Dylan and Owen driving their own car. They loved this ride. It was a good thing it had two steering wheels. One for each of them.

Coverstone grandkiddos. Grandma Kathy has to get this shot every time she comes.
