It's Snowing!

We went to Grass Valley with Matt and Christy today and it started snowing. We had to go out and play in it. Dylan LOVED it.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

We always read books and then sing songs before bed time. I have wanted to record it for awhile now, but Dylan has become a little camera shy. The only way he would let his singing be recorded was if he could hold the camera and do the recording, so it's a very up-close shot.

Christmas 2010

Santa brought the kids gifts, so I guess they were all on the nice list.

I don't think Sophia has put her new American Girl doll down since she got it.

I don't thing Addy was awake yet, but still liked her slippers and gift card.

Dylan LOVES his kitchen set.

Sophia has been asking for an Easy-Bake oven for awhile now, and she finally got one. She can feed that sweet-tooth of hers.

Then we went to Chris' Uncle Richard's for Christmas Dinner. Pam and Bob made a very yummy feast for us all.

Four generation picture with the Alves side of the family.

Grandma & pa Burks with D. It was a great few days. I'm sad it's over and I can't believe it's almost 2011!

Christmas Eve 2010

Christmas Eve was a very busy day. We started by opening gifts to and from Bob and Pam.
Dylan got this scooter from them.

Soph got a new DS game, Style Savvy.

And Addy got some puzzles. She wants a puzzle "wall" in her bedroom.

Chris got a Humboldt State sweatshirt and I got a jade ring, which I love. Thanks again!

Pam got shoe insoles from us. She's quite the walker.

And Bob got some headphones.

Then my family came over for lunch.

And more gift opening.

Then in the evening, the kids opened their Christmas Eve PJ's, which is also a tradition.

Then we let them open one more gift.

They opened Coca-Cola penny banks. We had so much fun with Chris' bank from when he was a kid, so we got them each for the kids, and a new one for Chris.

They had a lot of fun opening and playing with them.

SUGAR

We have a tradition of making sugar cookies every Christmas for Santa. Here's the finished products.

Both my parents and Chris' parents were here to make the cookies with us.

Owen and Dylan both did a good job decorating this year too.

Addy's plate of beautiful creations.

Of course, this is one of Soph's favorite activities because she is the Sugar Queen

Ornament Game

Every year we play the Ornament Game. We all buy ornaments, wrap them, and play the game. The kids love it. If you roll a 1 on the dice, you pick an ornament. If you roll a 6, you can steal an ornament that has already been opened or pick one. After 3 steals, it's yours.

Our parents and brother came down for Christmas, and we are thankful they are here.

Addy "sitting" on Aunt Crystal's lap. It reminded us of the movie Elf.

Here's our Holiday card final picture. Thanks Matt and Christy.

We had fun taking the MANY shots until we got one we all liked.

We made goody plates to take to neighbors, friends, and family. Rice Krispy wreaths, Shortbread cookies, Peppermint bark, Fudge, and Oreo Truffles.

The Christmas Season is in full swing. I love it.
