Ashland Girls Trip

Anna, Julie, and I went to Ashland July 17- 18 to see a play called 12th Night. Grandma and Grandpa Burks came to watch Dylan and Max (the girls were still in Oregon) because Chris was working that weekend. It was nice they were able come. Thanks G & G!

We stayed at the Hersey House Bed and Breakfast. Julia, are you sure it's not the Hershey House?

We ate dinner at this pub the lady at the B & B recommended. There was a line out the door, but it was worth the wait. The food was delicious. Even the salad was good.

The play we saw was at the outside theater. The weather was perfect and it was a beautiful night for an outside event.

I got in trouble by a 15 year-old boy for taking this picture. No pics in the theater! Ooops. I thought it was ok because the play hadn't started.....I guess not.

There is a gift shop by the theater with this cut-out, so of course we had to do it.
Here's Julia....

Anna

And Myself

On our last morning, on the porch of the house. What a fun trip. We decided we need to at least do a girls trip twice a year. Where are we going next girls?

Cabin Time

We went to the cabin with the Smiths and Max for the first time. We had a great time. Dylan wanted to hold the doggie on the way there. Max doesn't look too sure.

Dylan loves to play in the dirt.

The cabin is hidden up in the trees. It's such a pretty location. We feel very lucky that Chris' grandma lets the family use it.

They have a great lake that the kids love to play at. The girls were still with their Dad and Alex was with his Dad, so we just had the little kids.

Ryan and Owen playing in the water. Owen wasn't too sure about the water at first, but on the last day he got in. And Payton is behind them playing with two other girls she made friends with. She walked up to the girls and said, "Hi, my name is Payton Smith. Can I play with you?" I thought it was so cute.

The boys having fun in the sun

They have two floating docks in the middle of the lake. They are nice for sun bathing. Ryan, Payton, Me, Dylan and Chris. Crystal and Owen were on the shore taking this picture.

I swam out to the dock with Dylan on my back with his life jacket on, of course. I thought he would do the death grip on my neck the whole way out there, but he was actually very comfortable. Swim lessons did a lot for him this summer.

Happy 4th of July

I'm just a little behind on my blogging. We had a fun 4th of July. We went to our neighborhood block party. One of our neighbors, who will remain nameless, is a truck driver and they acquired some fireworks that you can't buy in Cali. They were fun to watch.

The girls were in Oregon this year at their Dad's house, so it was just the three of us. The Smith's were going to join us, but Pay and O are NOT fans of fireworks.

We set up our chairs in the driveways of two houses that are across from each other about five houses down from our house.

The CHP showed up (we had his family over for dinner a couple weeks later) but luckily we knew him.

Dylan was most impressed by the HOT fireworks both on the street and in the air. He would say "HOT" everytime they lit one.

And the fire department showed up too. Luckily they were very nice. We fed them brownies and some other yummy food and they left.

Here are some of the cupcake we brought to share.

We had a great time meeting some of the neighbors we didn't know yet, and visiting with the ones we already knew. It's great to be an American.
